Civil Liberties Examiner: Is Barack Obama the Civil Liberties Candidate?

The Civil Liberties Examiner has a post outlining Barack Obama's positions on civil liberties issues. Obama has a 82% lifetime score from the ACLU, with an 80% rating during the 110th Congress. However, despite his high score, there is no civil liberties section on his website.

The Civil Liberties Examiner also has a corresponding post outlining John McCain's positions on the same issues.

Barr Blasts McCain, Obama for Supporting National ID, Again Urges Congress to Repeal Real ID Act

Libertarian presidential candidate Bob Barr released a press release today blasting Congress for failing to repeal the REAL ID Act. Senators McCain and Obama both voted for the measure when it was passed as an amendment to an appropriations bill. "Protecting the people’s liberties and privacy is central to government’s role, not an afterthought – factors obviously not important to my opponents in both the Republican and Democratic Parties who supported the Real ID Act," Barr stated.
